The Thank You Project: Day 13 (Jonathan Alfano)
I think everyone knows that knows me knows I will always be a huge Notre Dame Irish fan. It comes from the pride that we get in going to such a special university, all of the traditions that we have as an undergrad, all of the traditions for our football team, and the friends that we make while being there. I don’t think I know anyone else that quite gets as jacked up about anything and everything Irish as this person I’m dedicating the thank you to.
I first met Jon in one of my business classes at ND. To be honest I didn’t know him too well until we both landed jobs in the Emerging Leaders Program at Nielsen. It’s a shame because I wish I knew him before that. Often, I get very excited messages from him telling me about something about Irish recruiting or the football team or how maybe one of our professors like Corey Angst was featured in an article. Talk about someone who is really knowledgeable and really pumped. In addition, he’s the go to guy for anything Mac related or tech related in general.
Aside from those connections that keep our conversations going, Jon has been a great friend. Like him, we share a couple of life experiences and it’s really good to have someone to talk to about it and have someone understand a little bit of where you are coming from. That and the fact that he’s always ready and willing to listen and help out as much as he can. That’s a sign of a good friend.
One of these days Jon, we both need to get back out on the bball court. The last time we did we got smoked by interns. We always say how we are going to get in shape and we really should make good on our word to do that haha.
Anyways, this thank you goes out to you Jon. I’ll congratulate you one more time on your recent wedding to Suzie. I wish you guys a great future as you start out that journey. Thanks for being a good friend and as always Go Irish!
