The Thank You Project: Day 81 (Driving)

Sometimes on a sunny day, you just feel like going and driving around. The wind against your face, the sun in your eyes and nothing but the open road that is between you and happiness. It’s a one of a kind feeling and during the summer, I love taking drives like that. For today’s thank you, I want to appreciate the ability to just drive anywhere and feel good.

When I was younger, I was very limited in where I could drive around. I only had a certain path that I should take to go places and I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere. But once I got through high school and went to college I began exploring places first with the bus system and then with my own car. It was beautiful when I actually had my own car and could go places. I’ve gone on 2 cross country road trips so far and have seen many things on my journey. However, nothing beats just having no where in particular to go and exploring things along the way.

Perhaps if we take a few moments every week and just drive to some parts of town we didn’t know about or just drive around without a purpose, we can once again recapture what it was like to just be carefree and explore the world.
