The Thank You Project: Day 97 (Old Country Buffet)
I love buffets. I know they are dangerous to your health because you literally could keep eating and eating because everything is in front of you. But to me, the ability to have a variety of food to choose from is a great thing indeed. One of the buffets that I used to go to as a kid was Old Country Buffet. As a family, my mom, dad and I went there almost every weekend when I was in middle school. So for today’s thank you, I want to give thanks for those weekends together at Old Country Buffet.
For those of you who haven’t been to an Old Country Buffet, it’s probably the same concept as almost any other American buffet place. It’s very similar to a Golden Corral. They serve a variety of food from Chinese to American to lots of frozen yogurt and toppings. The food is pretty good but it really was the family feel that I got from this buffet place that really got my weekend off to a good start. Most of the time my family would come for breakfast. I remember going for the omlettes they made and as a kid I thought it was the best thing in the world mainly because I did not know how to make them haha.
If you have a family, maybe you should make a tradition of going out on the weekend to a buffet place. They are usually a great place to hang out for a meal and no one can complain too much about wanting a different type of food. For me Old Country Buffet did the trick and I will always carry those memories with me.
