The Thank You Project: #132 (Super Nintendo)
I’m going to be continuing the trend of digging deep into my childhood for things I was thankful for growing up. One of the most time consuming things I had was the Super Nintendo. The game console had a great selection of games ranging from some unknown titles to very memorable ones from the Mario line or Zelda. Back then, the Super Nintendo started the rise in more Role Playing Games as well which I definitely do enjoy. My thank you today goes out to Nintendo for creating the Super Nintendo console.
One of my favorite all time games actually was on the Super Nintendo and it was called Tetris Attack. It wasn’t like any other tetris game that came out before and you could create huge combos with the game. It also contained somewhat of a story line featuring Yoshi from the Mario games. I played that game for hours and it actually helped I think with my logical skills.
There was also a variety of Mario and Zelda games that were available. Who can forget growing up with A Link to the Past, Super Mario World or Mario Kart? Those games are classic and many people to this day still have the SNES (I still have mine!) or they use an emulator to play the games on the computer.
One more thing that the Super Nintendo provided was my introduction to playing role playing games. The first one I ever played was Chrono Trigger which is a fantastic RPG. It opened up the door to other games like Earthbound (one of the most unique games I’ve played), Final Fantasy games and other RPG’s.
I know that I’m showing a bit of my nerdy side with some of these recent Thank You’s but it’s a part of who I’ve become as a person. I’m thankful for the influences because they molded me into what I am today!
