God always provides. Thank Heaven for that.

blogentry_kristarose“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” – Proverbs 29:25

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

I should never fear that God will provide. Lately, I’ve been freaking out because I have been sick and the medical bills have started to add up. I have to remember that God always takes care of me and always will…

They say that when one door closes another one opens (or a window) but either way we just have to look for the opportunities in our life that God is giving us.

I’ve been trying to purge Michael, Twix, and my lives of the “stuff” of our lives and remind each of us of what is important, most especially family and service. Lately, Michael and I have been very disconnected with each other and our friends because we’ve been swamped with work and doctor’s visits and everything, and we couldn’t see the end of it.

Thankfully, we have the opportunity to take the long weekend ahead to spend time with friends and family and take a well deserved break from work. We both agree that though we know there will be a lot of work when we return, we are going to escape from our work (as that is what a vacation is meant to be) and remember that the people in our lives are most important and our service to others, as we both preach in our lives.

Today we gave a single mother of four a lot of our old “useless” things…a reminder of why it’s called “Old 2 Gold” – one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Michael and I were able to help provide this family with a TV, a toaster oven, a printer, and even a set of dishes.

Now, I don’t say this for praise or anything, God has already blessed me enough. (Although I do believe in the power of “karma” and doing the right thing and if you do the right thing you will be rewarded – again, trusting you are doing the right thing and that God will provide)…

So as I stressed about where I would get money and at the same time purged my life of the things I don’t use that piled in my living room and providing some entertainment for help for the burden of this single mother…God was saying “you are doing the right thing” and took away my financial woes in only what I call a miracle that only He performs. It’s just a reminder for us to get back to basics…

Rely on God. He provides. He always will. Trust that, and thank Heaven for it.
