Living in Chicago, I became quite an aggressive driver. You sort of have to become that to an extent just to get where you need to be. However, I've discovered that you really should be a lot nicer on the roadways because when it comes down to it, we're all just trying to get someplace. There wouldn't be any other reason why we would sit in traffic would there be?
Imagine a world where everyone was nice enough to let people in their lane. Imagine if when you signaled, you could actually get in that...
Sometimes it's hard to admit that you are wrong. There are many situations where you know that you are right and want to go to the ends of the earth just to prove you are right. However, how many times have you engaged in one of these situations and found out you were wrong? Wouldn't things have been a lot easier if you admitted you were wrong sooner in the process?
I've found out that although saying you are wrong stings a bit, it gives you a bit of liberation of sorts. What I mean is that it makes...
David, a second-grader, was bumped while getting on the school bus and suffered a two-inch cut on his cheek. At recess he collided with another boy and lost two teeth.
At noon, while sliding on ice, he fell and broke his wrist. Later at the hospital, his father noticed David was clutching a quarter in his good hand. David said, "I found it on the ground when I fell.
This is the first quarter I ever found. This sure is my lucky day."

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today I can grumble...
So with this post I'm going to be accusing myself according to the belief that I hold. Actually there's a lot of things in life that I might seem a bit hypocritical about but I try my best to change that. Anyway, one of the things that I hear repeatedly from a lot of individuals is the concept of "I have no time to do that" or "I'm too busy". I'm a believer that there is no such thing as "I have no time" and rather it's a concept of what you prioritize in life.
The way I look at things, we're...
I had dinner with one of my friends down in Tampa at a really good English restaurant appropriately called "The Pub". It was nice to get to chat with her and talk about work and how things have been going. There was a point in the conversation that really struck me and it was when she asked me, what advice do you have in terms of getting through the program? For me, the answer was pretty simple, but the effect is pretty profound.
Reflection.
It's the way we can step back and think about things....
College was a time when I discovered a lot more about myself. I learned academically how far I could push myself. I learned about different kinds of people and even learned about some new sports I had never heard of (lacrosse is almost non-existent in South Texas). But by far the biggest thing I really learned about myself is the culture I represented. I did this through many different clubs on campus. It defined who I was on campus and what I did in my time outside of academics.
When I first...
Upon first glance of the phrase "Winging it with a plan", it sounds quite contradictory doesn't it? It is. But that's exactly how I kind of live my life.
If you get to know me as a person, you'll quickly figure out that I don't like making plans very much. I don't usually stick to too many things if they're laid out for me. I tend to like to just wander around in amusement parks for example and soak up the atmosphere and the environment instead of planning out everything I'm going to do. For example,...
