With the evolution of society, we now have so many stores at our disposal. I’m not saying that in the past there were no grocery stores at all, but they were not as complex and did not contain everything that we needed in our daily lives. Grocery stores nowadays combine not only groceries but pharmacy needs, small hardware and houseware needs and gardening needs all in one. There are several stores that are supercenters that do this like Meijer and Walmart. I wanted to dedicate today’s thank you for having these grocery stores because they make it a lot easier to get what I need quickly or to give me the opportunity to browse around and discover new things.
Krista and I like to shop at Martins which is a local grocery store in South Bend. You can say that a lot of the time I distract myself by playing on my cell phone but I’ve really tried to make an effort recently to not pull it out at all and to enjoy the experience. What I’ve found is that there are a lot of items in grocery stores. Literally thousands and thousands of combinations can made from the ingredients available. It’s always fun trying to think of some recipes you could possibly create with what you find. That’s the beauty of grocery stores, they give you so much variety.
On the flip side, grocery stores are now fairly organized and have everything you need so that when you’re looking to get ingredients or items quickly, you can do so with very little effort. Things are usually grouped in aisles so that you can find everything. I’m thankful that grocery stores are like this and they continue to get better. They continue to stock some of the favorite ingredients we use on a daily basis but they are continually trying to find new things to offer their customers. That’s pretty cool in my opinion and I thank them for that!
